This is my sixth BBICC, and it just gets better every year. With any case competition, there are really three key things that matter most – the social side, the cultural side, and the competition side.

From the social side, BBICC does such a great job of bringing all the competitors together for events where they can really get to know each other – which is so important. They treat the coaches phenomenally here; we’re treated like kings and queens, and it’s just fantastic.

From the cultural side – that, for me, is one of the best parts of BBICC. We don’t know much about Serbia, but after coming here for six of these competitions, I’ve learned how incredible the people are and how deeply hospitality is ingrained in their culture. That’s something I truly wish we had more of back in the U.S. – the way you’re treated like family, and how well they host you. So that’s why I say the cultural side of BBICC is just wonderful.

Now, from the competition side – this year has been particularly fantastic. We’ve had three cases, and each time, the judging and feedback were excellent. I say that even though my team completely bombed the first case – the feedback we received was negative, but it was absolutely accurate and constructive. The judges have been great all week, the cases have been great, and overall, it’s just been an amazing experience. Every time I come here, it’s a fantastic week, and I can’t wait to come back again.
