Format & Rules

The following section outlines the official competition format, evaluation structure, and participation rules of BBICC 2026.

1. Competition Structure

The competition consists of three cases: two short cases and one long case.

  • Each short case accounts for 25% of the overall score.

  • The long case accounts for 50% of the overall score.

Internet access will be available for all three cases.

2. Case Timeline and Presentation Format

Short Cases

For each short case, teams will have:

  • 5 hours to develop their solution

  • 15 minutes for the presentation

  • 10 minutes for the Q&A session

Long Cases

For the long case, teams will have:

  • 24 hours to develop their solution

  • 20 minutes for the presentation

  • 15 minutes for the Q&A session

3. Division Allocation

Teams will be randomly drawn and allocated into four divisions, each consisting of five teams.

  • Divisions will be used for the first short case.

  • Divisions will be reshuffled randomly for the second short case and the long case.

  • Teams will likely compete against different teams and present in a different order during each case.

Presentations within each division will take place simultaneously in four separate rooms.

Teams are not allowed to attend presentations of other teams.

Advisors may attend presentations in any division.

4. Judges’ Feedback

After all presentations are completed, the panel of judges will provide feedback to all Participants and Advisors during a 10-minute feedback session in each room.

 

5. Scoring and Final Round

Points from all three cases will be combined.

The four teams with the highest total score, regardless of division placement, will advance to the Final Round.

During the Final Round:

  • Teams will present their solutions for the long case again.

  • Presentation order will be determined by a draw held after finalists are announced.

6. Awards and Recognition

The panel of judges will collectively select:

  • Top 3 teams

  • Best Presenter Award

Additionally:

The audience will vote for their favorite team among the four finalists.
The team receiving the highest number of votes will receive the BBICC Idol Award.

7. Additional Rules

Detailed competition rules will be shared with Advisors prior to the competition.
